Join us to "Light Up the Valley" with a free community event on June 13th on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre!

We're thrilled to announce the return of Light Up the Valley, now in its second year, happening in Downtown Wilkes-Barre this Thursday, June 13th! This year's event promises even more excitement and festivities as we light up the night alongside Sunsets on SOMA.

In its inaugural year, Light Up The Valley brought together over 500 attendees to honor the top 40 Change Makers in our region who have consistently strived to make the Wyoming Valley a brighter place, through their efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion; volunteerism; or innovation, as well as additional efforts that improve the overall quality of life in the Wyoming Valley.

Attention Vendors!

We're excited to announce that vendor applications are now open for the 2024 Light Up the Valley event, taking place on June 13th. on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre! After the incredible success of our inaugural event last year, where we celebrated the vibrant essence of our community with live music, local vendors, and engaging activities like NEPA Cornhole, we're gearing up for an even bigger and brighter celebration this year!

As we illuminate Public Square with a dazzling light display, symbolizing our collective efforts to elevate and uplift the spirit of the Valley, we invite vendors to join us in creating an unforgettable experience for attendees! Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your products or services to a diverse audience and be part of a celebration that honors the top 40 Change Makers in our region. These individuals have consistently strived to make the Wyoming Valley a brighter place through their efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion; volunteerism; innovation, and more.

Parking:
Let’s start at the beginning…where do you park? Thankfully, our friends at Downtown Wilkes-Barre have got you covered with this informational web page that highlights all parking options for the evening. Check it out here: https://downtownwilkesbarre.org/explore/parking

Food & Restaurants:
We are encouraging all attendees to support local restaurants during this event. A few restaurants have created take-out only options to allow you to get food and get back to the bands in midtown and on Public Square. Restaurants will also have specialty-themed drinks for those who prefer to order from the regular menu and dine in.

More Information:
The dress code for the evening is casual. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to use when you’re not dancing.
