Please see our website: wilkes.edu/sordoniartgalleryStephan Koplowitz is an award-winning director\, choreographer\, and media artist whose work spans stage\, film\, and site-specific performance. His projects explore how people perceive place\, site\, and scale while examining the intersections of natural\, social\, and cultural ecologies. Since 1984\, he has created 92 works and received 65 commissions. His numerous honors include a 2017 Rockefeller Bellagio Fellowship\, 2004 Alpert Award in the Arts\, 2003 Guggenheim Fellowship\, and a 2000 "Bessie" Award for Sustained Achievement in Choreography. In 1996\, his site-specific work Genesis Canyon won Time Out Magazine's Best Dance Production award. Koplowitz served as Dean of CalArts' Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance from 2006 2016. He is also the author of On Site: Methods for Creating Site-Specific Performance\, published by Oxford University Press.
